This weeks session involved discovering and identifying the different types of hard disk drives and their components. Members also installed a hdd, and completed a quiz.
Members of MOWLL learnt the correct method of attaching connectors, and cables to parts of the motherboard. Members studied the different types of connectors, interfaces, and, cables. Members also completed a quiz.
Members of MOWLL learnt the correct and safe method of installing hardware using the correct tools. Members studied the different types of motherboard and completed a quiz relating to motherboards.
Members of MOWLL learnt the Health & Safety aspects of installing hardware using the correct tools to install a CPU. The tools used: anti-static wrist band and a CPU insertion tool.
Members of MOWLL took it in turn to install memory, the cpu, a motherboard, hard drive, power supply, and a network card. Members also recieved their level three certificates.
Members of MOWLL studied different types of peripheral, including the keyboard, mouse and storage devices.
Members of MOWLL studied DVD drives, identified connections, ports, components, interfaces, and installed a DVD card into a PC.
Members of MOWLL studied different types of sound cards and identified connections, ports, components, and interfaces of sound cards. Members also studied how to install sound cards.
Members of MOWLL studied the different types of hard drives, including external and internal drives, Solid State / Flash Drives, internal components of HDD’s, and installing HDD’s using correct tools. Members also identified HDD’s from other computer-based systems.
