Volunteer workshop leader

Either a 1 off session or 6 to 8 week programme)

1hr a week

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

10.30am – 11.30pm/ 1.30 – 2.30pm

Interested in running a short program to improve your workshop leading or teaching experience? Have a passion for a subject that you want to share with our self-advocates? Need to run a project as part of your university course? This is perfect for those who want experience for a future teacher or teaching assistant role.

Topics could include sport , health, art, poetry or community programme.

Come in and discuss with us any ideas you may have.

This role involves:

  • Researching and planning material

  • Leading a group of those we support

  • Writing up how the sessions went and planning for future sessions


English/maths assistant

(minimum 3 months commitment)

1hr a week

Monday - Friday 9am - 3pm

Want to make a difference to our self-advocates' future prospects?  Are you passionate about English or Maths, and want to share your enthusiasm? You will be working with self-advocates to help improve their skills in a 1:1 setting. This is perfect for those who want experience for a future teacher or teaching assistant role.

This role involves:

  • Researching and planning teaching materia
  • Teaching 1:1
  • Writing up how the sessions went and planning for future sessions

cOOKING ASSISTANT

(short/long term)

2 hours a week

Wednesday 10am - 12.30pm

Food and Hygiene certificate required to volunteer

Want to be involved with a fantastic cooking group? Want to share your knowledge of cooking and food hygiene to a group who are eager to learn? This would be ideal for anyone with either past experience of cooking or a love of the culinary arts. 

This role involves:

  • Helping to prepare food with the group
  • Maintaining a high level of hygiene
  • Ensuring the health and safety of everyone in the group

Café assistant

(Short/long term)

3hrs a week minimum

Monday - Friday 10.30am - 2pm

Food and Hygiene certificate required to volunteer

Do you want to make a difference to the lives of others whilst developing your own skills and experience? We are looking for a warm, friendly individual to work at a newly opened community cafe in Toxteth TV. 

This role involves:

  • Preparing and serving hot and cold drinks, as well as jacket potatoes, toasties and baked goods.
  • Maintaining a high level of food hygiene and adhering to health and safety
  • Keeping the café clean & tidy
  • Liaising with customers, volunteers, and staff in a professional and welcoming manner

SOCIAL MEDIA assistant

(long term)

3 hours a week

Monday - Friday 10am till 3pm

Want to take ownership and help raise our profile through social media? If so, we need your help to raise awareness of MOWLL. We’re looking for a dedicated volunteer to help grow our community of supporters.

This role involves:

  • Researching and creating content for social media channels, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and our blog
  • Collating information of the week activities to be put into blog posts on our website, as well as all our social media outlets
  • Writing engaging messages to inform and inspire our supporters
